Client challenge

Traditional top down approaches to the introduction of a safety culture had been tried over several years but there was a realisation that this was not filtering through to front line leaders and staff despite significant amounts of communication.

What we did

A highly experiential one-day workshop was designed for front line leaders to understand, experience, personalise and practice the behaviours that would facilitate the adoption of the safety principles and procedures that had been established. This was backed up by personalised coaching for every participant.

The result

Several hundred front line leaders participated in the programme with high engagement rates and subsequent adoption of the behaviours as well as modelling them for other colleagues. Most notably this impacted middle managers; that is the line managers of the front line leaders who had been trained.
