Client challenge

A large consultancy was engaged to implement a major IT system for a central government department; it became apparent though that users as well as senior leaders were not engaged and there was a risk that the rollout would fail.

What we did

A 3-hour, highly participative workshop was designed that engaged team members in the local design of the system’s implementation and empowered them to subsequently engage colleagues in the same way. Follow-up workshops were held to assess engagement and local adoption.

The result

The system was rolled out successfully with very high adoption rates and a positive perception was achieved amongst most staff. Over 150 separate business units were separately engaged including team leaders and staff of all grades.
